Prairie Creek Elms Print!

By Dave Machacek

PCCS Elms

On January 17, 2007 the Elm class of 4th and 5th graders at Prairie Creek Community School under the direction of printer Andy Lum learned about printmaking at the ArtOrg printmaking studio. You can see a photoset here and a short video of the activity here. Rumor has it that one of these prints will be sold at the annual Prairie Creek Auction to occur near the end of February this year.

Art and the Internet

By Dave Machacek

ArtOrg has sets of photos on something called Flickr, and videos on a part of the Google search engine called Google Video. It is a way for us to get content up on the internet for all to see. Classes we have given, special events, artist talks, speakers that have given presentations, etc. are all there.

Well, we have recently had an interesting experience with one of our videos. It is called simply “Dog and Cat”. We slipped in this short three minute video of a cute dog and a cute cat playing. This video in the last three days has received twice the number of hits as all our other twelve videos combined.

Here are two videos: one with a cute dog and cat, one with the 100-foot steamroller print. Keep in mind that over 2000 people have viewed the dog and cat in the last three days!
