ArtOrg’s “The First Edition”, Original Stone Lithographs
Northfield Gallery Crawl Friday, March 4, from 6 to 9pm.
We have recently dusted off one of our 100-year-old stone litho presses and have started printing! Stones were given to our Tuesday night figure drawing workshop, and we are pulling an edition of prints from their sketches.
We are binding the edition into a handmade book and we hope you like it. This limited edition book contains 10″ by 12″ stone lithogrpahy prints from 13 different artists. Contributors include: Kari Alberg, Liz See, Mary Reid Kelley, Pete Krause, Connie Conway, Tom Casmer, Mary GrandPre, Rick Swearer, Ted Tuel, Virginia Kelly, Lee Salminen, Fred Somers, Kari A. Klocke, and Scott King. Scott will be adding a hand-printed title page to the edition suite from the old iron handpress that may have belonged to the Northfield News years ago.
We will be demonstrating stone lithography at the opening on Friday night. The show is also open for slower, more deliberate conversation and viewing on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 pm. Or call us to make an appointment.
This is ArtOrg’s first attempt at printing. Please join us to celebrate, discuss, and move the arts forward. Thanks for your support.
