ArtOrg has registered a team to compete in the 2007 48 Hour Film Contest. In a nutshell, all teams are given a prop, a character, and a line of dialog that they must integrate into their film. These three items, plus the additional “film genre” variable which is different for every team, are given to all teams on Friday, June 8 at 7pm. The completed 7-minute films must be dropped off 48 hours later!

Experienced film editor Aleshia Mueller will be directing the team. Aleshia is a board member of the Minnesota Chapter of the Women in Film and Television Society International, and has worked on teams that have entered the 48 Hour Film Project before. See her bio on the WIFT website.

The team will be comprised of a group that both specializes in certain elements of film production, and also some beginners. Please contact us if you would like to participate. Depending on the specifics of the film we are given at the start of the 48 hour creative process, we may need any number of different actors! There is an open organizational meeting this Sunday evening, June 3, at 7 pm at the ArtOrg gallery at 200 Division Street (riverside entrance). Everyone is welcome, but remember, depending on the specifics we are given when the project starts, the requirements of the film may change, and the number of actors, for example, may be limited.

Our completed film will screen the week after completion, on Tuesday June 12 at 9:00pm at The Riverview Theater, 3800 42nd Street S., Minneapolis, MN. Tickets are available for $8.00 and it is open to the public. Each night will feature a different group of film entries–and check their website the complete scheudle of showings.
