Twenty Views of Dundas Exhibited at Fermentations

By Dave Machacek

The “Twenty Views of Dundas” collaborative print project will be shown at the top wine bar and bistro “Fermentations” in Dundas for the foreseeable future. All twenty works will be exhibited. Please take advantage of this opportunity to have a fine dining experience and see some great art from twenty local and regional artists such as David Burt, Ray Jacobson, Carolyn Swiszcz, Xavier Tavera, Carol Van Sickle, Diane Schrader, Fred Hagstrom, Meg Ojala, James Boyd Brent, Scott West and others.

A quote from a persnickety patron from the film “Dinner Rush” indicates how artists oftentimes view hanging their art in restaurants and coffee shops: “You look at paintings in restaurants? Do you look at cheese trays in galleries?” ArtOrg would like to acknowledge this sentiment, but also point out that the restaurant is really good, and many of the scenes depicted in the project are set within sight of the front door of Fermentations.

For example, Alex Hage’s print that memorialized an important legend occurred not thirty feet away from Fermentations at the historic L&M Bar. In this legend, it is said that Minnesota Viking lineman Ed White was beaten in arm wrestling two times in a row by a local farmer Ted Reuvers. Ed White was at one time champion of the National Football League in arm wrestling, and is now an Executive Director of and arts group near San Diego, California.
