Steam Steamroller Printing

By Dave Machacek

On ArtOrg’s recent “Thousand Print Summer” trip to five branches of the Northwest Regional Library, we printed for about 350 individuals at Red Lake Falls, Thief River Falls, Warren, Greenbush, and Warroad. See page devoted to this junket here, and if you made a print at one of these events, try to find the photo we took of you and your art. We also had one extra day, so we decided to travel to Rollag, Minnesota and make prints with a real steam-powered steamroller. Thanks go to Frank Orr, Jim Briden, and others of the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers who helped make everything easy. We printed the title blocks from our 2006 Northfield and 2009 Fargo steamroller print projects. If you would be interested in purchasing one of these prints from this historic “Steam-Steamroller Edition”, please let us know. Check the size of your walls, though, because the prints measure four-feet-tall by eight-feet-wide.
